Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise inaugurates new offices in Illkirch, Alsace, France.
Paris, France, July 5, 2022 - Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a provider of communications, network and cloud solutions, reaffirms its commitment to the Alsace region in France with the inauguration of a new site at the Pôle de l'Innovation de Strasbourg in Illkirch, on July 1st in the presence of a number of national and local political representatives.
Nicolas Brunel, President of ALE International, Dany Jennevé, Head of the Illkirch site, and Thierry Bonnin, Senior Vice-President of Public Affairs & Strategic Partnerships at ALE, had the privilege of welcoming Franck Riester, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in charge of Foreign Trade and Attractiveness, along with Jean Rottner, President of the Grand-Est Regional Council, Pia Imbs, President of the Eurometropole of Strasbourg and Thibaud Philipps, Mayor of Illkirch-Graffenstaden.
On this occasion, Franck Riester commented:
"Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has never forgotten its roots in Alsace, where the company has chosen to establish a new site dedicated to research and innovation and that I am pleased to inaugurate today. The expertise of this world leader in network infrastructure, digital communication and cloud is a real asset for the attractiveness of Alsace and the Grand Est Region. I would like to congratulate the teams, whose commitment and extraordinary know-how are the strength of ALE.”
Recommitting to the Alsace region in 2022
Two key events have confirmed Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise's commitment to the Alsace region.
Firstly, last May, ALE signed a partnership with the University of Strasbourg and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) to share a Faraday cage for ICube, whose laboratory is located on the CNRS Cronenbourg campus in Strasbourg.
Secondly, on July 1st, ALE inaugurated its new offices in the Pôle de l'Innovation de Strasbourg in Illkirch (67400). To meet its employees’ new needs, the company signed a nine-year lease for 7,300 m2 that include various collaborative spaces. With its 400 employees (over half of whom are in R&D), this site becomes ALE's largest office in the world. The premises host, among others, the research and development teams for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise's RainbowTM cloud collaboration solution, a global unified communications cloud, open to connected objects and artificial intelligence. The site also houses an electronics and acoustics development laboratory for the development of enterprise communications systems and terminals.
By moving to the heart of the Strasbourg Innovation Cluster in Illkirch, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is strengthening its local commitment, a historic symbol of its presence in France. In this new environment, our teams will be able to support our ambitious strategy and promote our products and services internationally.
With the inauguration of this new site dedicated to innovation and advanced digital technology, we are clearly positioning ourselves in a process of strengthening digital sovereignty in France. It is imperative to master these new technologies, which are essential to France’s development and its impact on the world. Thanks to our proximity to schools and universities, our presence in the Grand Est region enables us to train and recruit new talents and meet the needs of companies, wherever they may be. This is also the power of digital technology.
On this occasion, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and Kyndryl France signed a partnership for the co-creation of tailored services using the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Rainbow™ cloud platform, enabling new digital services to be offered to businesses. In addition, Nicolas Brunel and Pia Imbs co-signed the pact for a sustainable local economy within the Eurometropole of Strasbourg.
